TRAINING PATH & TIMELINE
Diploma, Commissioning, or Certification
Diploma, Commissioning, or Certification
Everyone who enters and completes our program will at least earn a Diploma in Discipleship & Soul-care. While our program is not accredited, it is robust and comprehensive. You would be hard-pressed to find another program like it.
Whether you choose to be finished once you have completed the Diploma Track, or to invest a bit more time and energy for the Commissioned in Biblical Discipleship & Soul-care Track or the Certified Biblical Counselor Track, the foundation of education, training, and equipping that you receive will be the same.
And, depending on whether you choose the Level I or the Level II training options, you will complete either 6 or 10 training modules. (Level III Specializations have their own timelines.)
NOTE: If you have been providing discipleship and soul-care for several years, have completed seminary-level coursework or focused biblical counseling course, or some combination of these, let's have a conversation. We may be able to credit your education and experience toward the requirements of our program. Email the Program Administrator to get the conversation started.

LEVEL I TIMELINE
At the normal pace of life and with weekly class attendance, for the six modules of Level I, plan on about 18-months of study and about 22 months for the entire level due to schedule breaks. Live-stream classes are taught from September into the first week or so of July. There are no regular classes through the summer. The Self-Directed option takes the normally busy person about two to two-and-a-half years to complete.
EXAMPLE: You register for LEVEL I of the program. The cohort you are assigned to has its first live-stream class the second week of September. Module 1 is a 12-week module, so the last class will be the last week of November or first week of December, depending on holidays. Module 2, a 10-week module, will begin the first or second week of January. Module 3, a 12-week module, will begin in April and conclude in late June or early July (again, depending on holidays). Module 4 will then begin in September of that year.

LEVEL II TIMELINE
For the four modules of Level II, you will need to plan on about 12-months of study and about 15-16 months from beginning to end with normal schedule breaks. Live-stream classes begin in September, run through the first or second week of July, then resume in September for Module 10. Module 10 is a 10-week module, so it usually concludes the week before Thanksgiving (US).
LEVEL III SPECIALIZATION TIMELINE
Each area of specialization requires an approved application and authorization from the Director. While each of the Level III Modules may be attended via the Self-paced option for personal enrichment, Level II Specialization Certification has additional requirements to attending classes.
Also, for those who pursue Level III Specialization, one of the required modules for each of them is "Crisis, Loss & Trauma Counseling," which is Module 10 in Level II. Those completing Level II will have met that requirement. We welcome candidates from outside TILBCC, so Module 10 will be built into their program of study.
Each of the Level III Specialization modules is 12-weeks long. Following completion of the coursework, there is a specialization-specific written examination to pass. Once that is passed, there is a Certification Panel interview for each specialization. This entire process can take up to a year, depending on the person and their schedule.
