LEVEL III BIBLICAL COUNSELING SPECIALIZATIONS
What does a pastor or biblical counselor do when faced with a deeply troubling situation that they have little to no experience dealing with? How do they help when a person who loves the Lord is troubled by the effects of sin and nothing they have tried has brought freedom?
Situations like relational trauma from oppression or abuse. Or sexual brokenness manifesting in same-sex attraction or behavior, paraphilias, gender rejection, pornography "addiction," and the like. Or long-term and dynamic trauma, like survivors of long-term childhood abuse, narcissistic abuse, sex-trafficking, kidnapping, and other out-of-the-norm traumas. Or counseling children who need to be approached and discipled differently than we approach and disciple adults.
Unless we are aware of and have access to biblical counselors and soul-care providers who have been specially trained and qualified to address these matters well, the default is to either handle (mishandle?) it the best we can, or to "farm out" the problem to a licensed clinician and hope for the best.
Yet, God does have powerful solutions to these deeper issues and there is an ever-increasing need for trained, qualified, and experienced biblical counselors and soul-care providers to be available to provide that help. There is no area of trouble, no area of woundedness, no area of bondage that God's Word does not address and that He does not intend His people to minister to one another through (Romans 15:14; Galatians 6:1-2).
The Truth in Love Level III Biblical Counseling Specialization Track exists to provide that very equipping for those in the Body of Christ who believe God is calling them to minister in these more difficult and challenging areas of bondage and brokenness. Our course materials have been developed and are taught by biblical counselors who are highly experienced and effective in each of these special areas of counseling need.
There are four areas of Level III Counseling Specialization training available (click on the titles below for more details):
Currently, all of the modules in this track are studied via archived video streaming. We understand that each student will need to manage their own schedule to ensure they can complete the module in a timely manner.
