The Bible School

The Bible School at Vancouver Bible Institute provides solid, foundational courses for every person who desires to have the necessary tools for effectively and accurately reading, understanding, and interpreting the Word of God.
Biblical Languages — These courses each consist of a three 10-week modules that bring the languages of the Bible to life and make them understandable to the student in a vibrant and relevant way. The goal is for the students to be able to read the Scriptures in the original languages that God chose to reveal Himself through and interpret the text for themselves. (Offered through Professor McDougall's website.)
Exegetics ― In the Biblical exegetics course, one will learn how to read the meaning out of the Scriptural text (exegesis) rather than reading an understanding into the text (eisegesis). (Offered through Professor McDougall's website.)
Hermeneutics ― This course is part of several of our programs and provides students with hands-on practical training in the art and science of Biblical interpretation.
Bible Survey Courses ―The Old Testament Survey course consists of two 10-week modules that bring the Old Testament into modern relevance and focus. In this course we will emphasize the eleven key books of the Old Testament since they provide the chronological and historical foundation for the other 28 books. This approach to the course will aid the student in attaining a better awareness of the pattern and progression of the Old Testament Scriptures. (Offered through Professor McDougall's website.)
